Born in Mexico City on 31 December 1976, Claudia González Burguete is a multidisciplinary creator, entrepreneur, photographer, author, and engineering designer whose work brings together two worlds that are rarely seen side by side: creative expression and technical precision.

Her journey began with a camera started during her primary school years, Claudia’s parents gave her her first camera — a Kodak 120 with interchangeable cube flashes. What began as a childhood curiosity quickly became a lasting passion. One of her early photographs went on to win first place in her category in the Photographs and Poems competition.

​

Photography remained part of her life as her interests evolved. In 2001, she acquired her first digital camera, opening a new chapter in her photographic work. Since then, her catalogue has grown into an extensive collection of images, eventually leading to the creation of regular photographic exhibitions. Since 2013, Claudia has presented four photographic exhibitions each year, building an evolving body of work that continues to grow.

But photography is only one part of her story.

A creative mind with a technical foundation

Claudia's academic and professional path developed in parallel with her creative work. She studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City before moving to England in 2002 to continue her education. She later completed an MSc in Microelectronics and Telecommunications at the University of Liverpool, followed by an MPhil in Electronics Engineering, specialising in Photonics, at University College London (UCL).

Her engineering work has taken her into research, development, design, and technical communication. She has published articles, photographs, and posters in both English and Spanish, and one of her research photographs received third prize in an Imaging Science competition.

​

This combination of engineering and creativity has become one of the defining characteristics of Claudia's work. She can look at an idea through the eyes of a creator and analyse it through the mind of an engineer.

​

A lifelong relationship with words

Claudia's creative work also extends to writing. She began writing poetry around 1999 and subsequently participated in literary competitions and contributed to six poetry anthologies published between 2006 and 2011.

​

Years of writing eventually led her to bring together fifteen years of poetry into two collections: Virgin Thoughts, based on her Spanish collection Pensamientos, and Voyage Within, based on Introspección. Both Spanish editions became Amazon bestsellers.

​

She later combined her poetry with another of her passions — photography — creating photographic editions of both books, pairing her words with images of flowers.

​

Her first non-fiction book, My London 2012 Olympic Story, tells the story of her experience of living in London during the years surrounding the Olympic Games and volunteering at both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

​

Her photographic work has also been brought together in printed anthologies, preserving a selection of the photographs presented through her virtual exhibitions.

Building a world of her own

In 2002, Claudia moved from Mexico to England to pursue her academic ambitions. More than two decades later, England has become an important part of both her personal and professional journey.

 

In 2013, she founded González Burguete Group (GBG) to bring her different ventures together under one house.

 

Rather than forcing everything into a single identity, she chose to create a distinct brand for each activity — allowing each enterprise to develop its own character while remaining connected to the wider González Burguete vision.

 

Today, that vision encompasses photography, publishing, creative work, engineering design, research, and consulting.

More than one discipline

Claudia does not fit easily into a single professional category — and that is intentional.

 

She is a photographer who thinks like an engineer, an engineer who creates like an artist, an author who documents the world around her, and an entrepreneur who turns ideas into enterprises.

 

Her work is driven by curiosity: the desire to learn, to create, to investigate, to experiment, and to keep developing.

For Claudia, creativity is not separate from precision. They are two ways of understanding the world. And González Burguete Group is the structure she created to bring those different ways of thinking together.
